Cachikel Mayan man, Panajachel, Guatemala
This Mayan grandfather is wearing very traditional clothing of the Cachikel Mayans. Except for his belt buckle, everything he is wearing was hand made by him or his family.
Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly rare to see Mayan folks wearing traditional designs, especially among the males. It is cheaper to buy modern clothing, and much easier. So far, the ancient weaving skills have not disappeared.
